August 8, 2020Summers in Massachusetts can get pretty sticky…humid that is. So, you may be constantly looking for ways to lower the humidity levels in your home and stay more comfortable. Here are some tips that can help you do just that:
Use your air conditioner. Your air conditioner will help to lower those humidity levels because it’s introducing cooler air while removing warm, humid air. Make sure you regularly get your air conditioner tuned up though, and frequently change the filter to insure optimal performance. Anything that restricts airflow or causes your air conditioner to stop working is going to be a big problem for you.
Use your vent fans in the kitchen and bathrooms. Using the vent fans especially when you’re cooking and taking showers, but also leave them on a little longer to continue to help vent out the warm humid air.
Use a dehumidifier. To insure your air conditioner removes more moisture from the air and keeps your home cool, dry and comfortable on the stickiest summer days, consider installing a whole-home dehumidifier with your air conditioner, which will increase its performance and efficiency throughout the summer.
